These values have guided me through every part of my life — personally, professionally, and politically. Before I entered public life, I spent over 30 years working across some of the most essential sectors of our island: healthcare, infrastructure, education, finance, and energy. I led teams, managed multi-million-pound operational budgets, and worked hands-on with frontline services. That experience gave me a real-world understanding of how government functions not just on paper, but where it really counts — on the ground.

I stood for the House of Keys because I believed we needed more people with direct, practical experience in leadership — people who understand systems and services, not just from behind a desk, but from working alongside those who deliver them and rely on them. I brought that insight with me into government, always focused on strategic change that makes a real difference to people's lives.

But my experience doesn't stop at boardrooms or briefing papers. I'm a mum, a proud nannie, and have been a carer for my amazing parents. I understand what it means to juggle responsibility, worry about the future, and stand up and speak up for islanders. I'm known for being determined, approachable, and not afraid to have the difficult conversations — especially when it means getting things done. I believe in listening first, and then acting decisively.

I've also been active in community service long before politics. I served as Director of the Onchan Park Café — more than just a café, it was a valued community space for residents and visitors alike. Many families returned year after year because they remembered it fondly from their own childhoods. That experience grounded me in what it means to provide welcoming, inclusive services that bring people together.
